Redhouse holds auditions periodically throughout the year in New York City and Syracuse. Please check back often for updates.

Redhouse Arts Center is holding local auditions for its 2018-19 season Saturday, June 9th and Sunday, June 10th.

Steel Magnolias

TRUVY – 40s. Owner of the beauty shop.
CLAIREE – 60s. Widow of former mayor. Grande dame.
OIUSER – 60s. Wealthy curmudgeon. Acerbic but lovable.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

Seeking actors within an age range of 18-35 to play young children. All actors must sing and move well. Casting the following roles:
CHARLIE BROWN
SNOOPY – (Male or female) Charlie Brown’s pet beagle. Physicality and improv background required. Dance or movement experience required.
LUCY – Bossy and a know-it-all, interests include psychiatry and real estate.
LINUS – An intellectual, philosopher, and theologian
SALLY – Charlie Brown’s sister, young sounding voice.
SCHROEDER – A piano prodigy. (Actor must play) Lucy’s love interest.
PIG PEN – Known for attracting dust, has a kind heart. Dance experience required.
FRIEDA – She brags about her “naturally curly hair”; a total diva. Character voice. Dance experience required.
VIOLET – Lucy and Patty’s best friend; a mean and snobby girl. Character voice. Dance experience required.
PATTY – Not to be confused with Peppermint Patty. Best friend to Lucy and Violet; sometimes bullies the others. Character voice. Dance experience required.
SHERMY – Very dry; bemoans that he has to play a shepherd in the play every year. Dance experience required.
OPEN DANCE/MOVEMENT CALL: SAT JUNE 9th (3pm-5pm)
Please select one of the three sessions and arrive 15 minutes prior to sign in. The sessions are 3pm, 4pm and 5pm.
OPEN SINGING CALL: SUN JUNE 10th (10am-1pm)
Please prepare 32 bars of a song of your choice. Bring sheet music for accompanist.
****NOTE: Actors must attend both calls to be considered for A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Casting 6 actors to play multiple roles. Age range should be within 20 to 45:
PHIL – 40s. Overworked father and husband who wants to fix his marriage.
MARCI – 40s. Overworked mother and wife who wants her husband to pay more attention to her.
PETE – 20s. Quiet, sweet, slightly awkward.
GINETTE – 20s. Brave, romantic, and affectionate.
RANDY – A builder, a man’s man who likes to snow mobile and drink beers. Kind and compassionate.
CHAD – Also a builder and a man’s man type. Has a vulnerable side.
