The Roosevelt Dean Band
November 26, 2005

Thanksgiving weekend, The Redhouse welcomes the soulful sounds of bluesman Roosevelt Dean. No tall tales here—this musician lays out the blues in soothing strokes, song after song.

Folkstrings is an acoustic folk group that has been together for nearly 10 years. With two guitars, a mandolin and bass, sprinkled with an occasional fiddle, banjo and mouth harp, they play in the style of the folk groups of the 1960s with a shading of bluegrass, blues, country and jazz. It is tap-your-feet-and-sing-along music. Their material ranges from Woody Guthrie to Janis Joplin with some Tom Paxton, Kingston Trio, Peter, Paul & Mary and John Denver thrown in the middle.
Paris Was a Woman Marshall Crenshaw – Solo Electric

The Nines – Swingin'
April 23, 2005

Swing into spring with the jumpin', jivin' jazz of The Nines. Driven by the exciting percussion of Giovanna Albaroni, the smooth rhythmic bass lines of Kathryn Hart, and the creative full-chord progressions of Nancy Stewart Johnson, the Nines rhythm section provides a solid groove for searing solos by saxophonist Lisa Tokarz. This tight musical interplay is the perfect atmosphere for The Nine's two sultry lead vocalists, Lauren Johnson-Albaroni and Valerie McNickol, to keep the house swingin' and swayin' to the impassioned sounds of The Nines.
