The Redhouse transforms from a house of arts to a house of hearts when they muster the talents of local musicians for an eight-hour jam session to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
The Redhouse, along with Galaxy Communications and TK99, will partner with the American Red Cross to raise funds for Hurricane Katrina relief. Radio host Dave Frisina will be expanding the monthly broadcast of TK99’s Soundcheck Live @ The Redhouse to a two-hour format and The Redhouse will be providing musical performances from 2:00pm until Soundcheck’s airtime at 8:00pm. The American Red Cross will accept donations for admission at the door and all admission proceeds will benefit the Hurricane Katrina relief fund.
The music filling The Redhouse will be provided by diverse performers including:
Nick Palumbo’s dixieland-infused jazz;
Traditional New Orleans style music by SodaAsh 6;
Arty Lenin and Gary Frenay;
Traditional and contemporary folk stylings of Folkstrings;
Modern jazz with Mark Copani and guests;
Syracuse blues legend Roosevelt Dean;
Gospel with Luella Knighton;
Rootsy blues of Corn-Bred;
An acoustic blend of Appalachian Celtic music of The Great Bear Trio;
The twisted blues and roots sounds of The Gonstermachers;
Fingerstyle guitar master Loren Barrigar;
Joe Whiting Band with guest Mark Doyle;
and featuring Lil’ Georgie aka George Rossi and Amy Trail.
Event partners include the American Red Cross, Galaxy Communications, SubCat Music Studio, Big Apple Music, Martin’s Pianos, Movino’s, T.J. Sheehan Distributing Ona Java Cafe.
