About the Workshop:
This three-hour physical theater training intensive geared towards expanding performing artists’ creativity, physicality, and spontaneity onstage. Participants will learn the fundamentals of working as an ensemble through a range of physical theater and puppetry training tools developed from the work of Handspring Puppet Company (Broadway’s War Horse) and the award-winning Not Man Apart Physical Theater Ensemble. Artists of all skill levels and experience will find this workshop a fun, play-filled, and challenging workshop.
About The Dark Crystal:
On another planet in the distant past, a Gelfling embarks on a quest to find the missing shard of a magical crystal, and so restore order to his world. *Students will watch a short documentary on the movement and making of this classic film. Students will not watch the actual film.
The sequel to this cult classic, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, is set to be released this year! Learn all about puppetry, movement, and the famous film before the sequel hits the small screen on Netflix!

10:00am – 1:00pm: Physical Theater and Puppetry Workshop
1:00pm – 1:30pm: Lunch *Please bring a bag lunch
1:30pm – 2:00pm: Puppet/Improv Challenge!
- A lunch break will be given. Please bring a bagged lunch.
- Please wear comfortable clothes that allow full range of movement and sneakers or other soft, flat-soled shoes.
